A website is changing the way shoppers purchase fruits and vegetables year round.

Farmers across Idaho are busy harvesting throughout the year, did you know that when you buy local the money generated stays in the community?

"We pick most of the produce here fresh daily we pick corn fresh every day and green beans. But you can always be assured everything is fresh when you're buying stuff that is local” said Jay Proost Owner, Proost Family Farm.

An Idaho organization lives by the term "local".

"Idahosbounty.org is an online market place when you look it more and less it creates a farmers market on the web for local farmers to post their products, consumers to come and find them” said Lynea Petty General Manger, Idaho’s Bounty.

This is how it works; you pay a $10 membership fee.

Then you shop for your favorite produce during online shopping hours.

You add items to your cart and check out. It’s easy as a few clicks of a mouse.

"We drive trucks around three days a week, we have a whole sweet of customer .Then dependant on where we live we have pick-up areas” said Lynea Petty General Manger, Idaho’s Bounty.

More than 80-farmers participate in the program and set their prices.
Over 100-customers are purchasing locally grown produce from the comfort of their own home weekly.
