Could A New Park Be Coming To Twin Falls?
Twin Falls, Idaho (KMVT-TV) The Twin Falls parks and recreation commission took a tour of a prime piece of land that's for sale.
Could a new park be coming to the city of Twin Falls soon? "The city has always been interested in canyon rim property, canyon bottom land property” said Dennis Bowyer, Director of Twin Falls Park and Recreation. The old day dream ranch is up for sale. "The city has become interested in this because a lot of times once it's sold you never get a chance to get public access to it” said Dennis Bowyer, Director of Twin Falls Park and Recreation. Twin Falls is in a preliminary process of reviewing the site and the parks and recreation commission will make a recommendation to the city council. "This would be something we would purchase right off and then eventually make plans to develop this site." said Dennis Bowyer, Director Twin Falls Park and Recreation. Then the council will have to decide if they would like to move forward with the purchase. The asking price is more than $600,000 and the property spans to 21-acres. Bowyer says, the dollar amount is a big concern. "Can we afford to buy this property, can we offer a lower price. That is something the council will have to decide which way they want to proceed with it" said Dennis Bowyer, Director of Twin Falls Park and Recreation. If the city goes forward with purchasing the land, bowyer says there is potential to combining two parks together. "It's another piece of the puzzle to connecting the county rock creek park and the city's rock creek park” said Dennis Bowyer, Director of Twin Falls Park and Recreation. The purchase will be a step-by-step process that will be decided by the council. Comments ( Most Viewed
