Jay Michaels is a General Assignment Reporter. 


Before joining KMVT, Jay worked in Twin Falls radio for 18 years, beginning as a Weekend Announcer at KTFI-AM in March 1982, then moving to KLIX-AM/KMTW-FM, followed by KEEP-AM/KEZJ-FM.  From March 1985 to April 2000, he was the KCIR-FM Programming Coordinator.  In October 2000, Jay worked as a Part-Time Switcher at KDID-TV/KTWT-TV in Twin Falls. 


Jay is a Magic Valley native who grew up on a farm near Jerome, Idaho.  He graduated from Jerome High School in 1980, and from Ron Bailie School of Broadcast in Spokane, Washington in 1981.  Jay also has a Business Administration: Management degree from the College of Southern Idaho in Twin Falls.


When Jay’s not working, he enjoys playing and composing music, reading, writing, science fiction, model rocketry, and scriptwriting.  He lives with his wife and two daughters in Twin Falls.
