This year to celebrate Domestic Violence Month, we are going to do a “Walk in Her Shoes” fundraiser followed by a Candlelight Vigil.
We would like to offer our sincere thanks for your participation in the 2012 in our first annual, “Walk in Her Shoes®” event to honor and support survivors of domestic, dating, and sexual assault or stalking. In this event, men literally walk in women’s high heel shoes to raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence and build empathy for survivors. As a walker you will not only raise funds for survivor services, but also speak out against men’s violence towards women. According to the Idaho State Police, a small percentage of men perpetrate over 90% of all violent crime towards women, children, and other men in Idaho. However, most Idaho men do not make the choice to be violent. By joining the Walk in Her Shoes effort, we all send the message that domestic and sexual violence will not be tolerated in the Mini-Cassia areas of Idaho.
