“Announcing the inaugural Twin Falls Criterium, Saturday, May 25th. Sponsored by Intermountain Cycling Organization (ICO) and Cycle Therapy.Return to event list.
That's right folks, a USA Cycling permitted race right here in Twin Falls. Have you ever thought about trying your hand at racing? Well you can try a crit as a Cat 5 racer and the purchase of a one day license from USA Cycling. The Cat 4/5 race will be the first race of the day starting at 2:00 pm. There will be six races in all, with the final race starting at 6:20 pm for the Pro-1-2-3 field. We will also be having kids races at 4:10 pm. The kids races are free, but the parents must sign a waiver and helmets must be worn. There will be a Strider bike race for the 2-4 year olds, and one lap races for the 5-7 and 8-9 year olds. One lap of the crit course is 1 km, or 0.62 miles. Race fees for the other races is $20 with pre-registration at www.usacycling.org or $30 day of the race. A one day license will cost you $10.
We are also looking for folks who might be willing to volunteer with the race. We are in need of corner marshals to keep traffic off of the roads and we might have other volunteer opportunities. This is a fully closed course. If you are interested in volunteering contact me, or stop in at Cycle Therapy and talk to them. Roads will close at 1:00 pm, racing starts at 2:00 pm and the final race wraps up at 7:20 pm. We hope to re-open roads by 8:30 or 9:00 pm.
Folks, this has not been an easy thing to bring to Twin Falls. However, we have it permitted through the city and USA Cycling. Even if you don't want to race, or volunteer, it would be nice to see spectators out to help show Twin Falls what a great thing this is
