BSU Art Education Professor, Kathleen Keys is offering a FREE 1 day James Castle Teacher Workshop in Twin Falls on July 25, 2013 from 9am-5pm, at the Twin Falls Arts Center.

Interested K-16 educators and artists are invited to consider participation in the Workshop. Optional Professional Development Credit is available for a reduced rate.

Advance registration is required for the FREE Workshop at: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VJMC8PM

The Workshop is supported by the Idaho Commission on the Arts, National Endowment for the Arts, Boise State University, and in partnership with the Magic Valley Arts Council and the Twin Falls Arts Center.

James Castle (1899-1977) was an Idaho self-taught/outsider artist who used unlikely materials and unconventional media to create thousands of artworks. Castle's renown has grown both nationally and internationally at a fast pace during the past ten years.

It is a goal to eventually create and publish a collaboratively developed and written James Castle Curriculum in Idaho containing contributions from educators across the state. Workshops across Idaho this summer begin that process.
