CSI and other students as well as members of the community are encouraged to attend a one-hour presentation at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 in the CSI Fine Arts Theater called ‘Nonviolent Sexuality: Making Peace with Passion.’Return to event list.
The free session is presented by CSI Student Services in cooperation with the Conflict Literacy Group, Inc. Bob Hall has conducted similar sessions on more than 1,000 campuses to more than 300,000 students. Hall is a certified mediator in the New York State Court System and a former board member with the New York Coalition Against Sexual Assault. In his promotional materials, he says, “Sexuality and conflict are not subjects that our culture readily encourages us to think deeply about, much less talk about openly. But thought and dialog are exactly what is required to address the problems of sexual violence, unwanted pregnancy, and sexually transmitted disease.” Testimonials from other audiences say Hall uses solid, research-based content and humor to help students consider who they want to be and to make healthy choices in their lives and relationships.
All attendees will be eligible to win several prizes, including metal roses made by the CSI Welding students and a handmade longboard.
