Students in the College of Southern Idaho’s Horticulture Club and their instructor Chance Munns will hold their annual fruit tree pruning workshop at Centennial Park on Saturday, April 5. They invite volunteers to join the work party and learn proper pruning techniques.Return to event list.
Fruit trees that used to be part of the original Twin Falls Tract Orchard still dot the landscape in Centennial Park and the nearby Canyon Springs Golf Course. CSI students work each year on pruning, re-vitalizing, and preserving these historic trees. Volunteers will learn valuable tips they can apply on their own fruit trees.
No registration is required and there are no fees. Volunteers can simply show up at Centennial Park at 9 a.m. Wear gloves and bring whatever tools you have, including pruning saws, loppers, bypass hand pruners, ladders, and pole saws. Some tools will be available at the event.
