(KMVT/KSVT) - Have you ever wondered what it's like to be in your child's teacher's shoes?
Blaine County School District invites anyone with that curiosity to be an "Educator for a Day" on Friday, Dec. 1.
Guest educators get the chance to experience what goes on in and out of the classroom on a typical school day.
Long-time Wood River Valley resident Paul Hartzell participated last year to get to know more students, meet the teachers and see what the curriculum is like today.
"When I look back upon it almost a year ago, I think of it as I was incredibly impressed with the enthusiasm of the students," Hartzell said. "I just thought they were electric for lack of a better word, and I also thought that they were very involved not only with each other, but also with their teacher. It's a great way to spend time to learn about what your tax dollars are doing and to meet a lot of enthusiastic young people."
The day starts as early as 7:30 a.m. and concludes with lunch with your host educator from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Anyone interested in signing up can do so here or by calling Heather Crocker at (208) 578-5005.
