BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - A Cassia County Sheriff has finally reached one of his goals.
Sheriff Jay Heward received the Idaho Executive certificate after serving as a sheriff for nearly four years.
Only sheriffs and chiefs are eligible for the award after three years in that position.
Heward says earning the award shows determination and goal–orientation.
"It feels good. I'm happy," said Heward. "It's probably a goal that they(other chiefs and sheriffs) want to achieve. It's a goal that I wanted to achieve after, you know, getting several other Idaho law enforcement certificates."
Heward's award was signed last spring but recently presented to him in person at the annual conference in Boise.
