BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Cassia Regional Hospital was awarded accreditation from The Joint Commission this week.

They received the Gold Seal of Approval from the national nonprofit that has accredited more than 20,000 hospitals in the U.S.

According to the Joint Commission's website, its accreditation "is recognized nationwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting certain performance standards."

The Cassia Regional Hospital underwent an unannounced inspection from the commission in July. They were notified on Tuesday that they had passed.

“The Joint Commission is the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation,” said Jeanette Wheeler, quality and patient safety director at the hospital. “Our caregivers are celebrating the great work they have done to help ensure that we are providing the highest quality health care possible.”
