Crews work to put out 130 acre fire south in Third Fork area

THIRD FORK, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Lightning ignited a 130-acre fire in the Third Fork area on Saturday. By Sunday morning, crews had the flames 50 percent contained.

The East Line Fire is located south of Murtaugh. It temporarily closed a part of Rock Creek Road so crews could fight it.

The fire is in the Minidoka Ranger District and Forrest Service Crews expect to contain the flames by Sunday at 4:30 p.m. They expect to control them by Monday at 10 p.m.

The Forrest Service had one helicopter, five engines and two 20-person crews fighting the flames. They urge caution driving in the area as crews are still working.
