Dairy Queen hosts "Free Cone Day", seeks donations for local hospitals

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - To celebrate the first day of spring, Dairy Queen is hosting “Free Cone Day” on Monday. Customers can get a small ice cream cone with any flavor they want. Although it's free, they're collecting donations for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. That means St. Luke’s Magic Valley and St. Luke’s Jerome will receive the proceeds. Dairy Queen has been gearing up for this fundraiser for a while.

"We've been asking all month long for customers to round up their change on their purchases here. So, all month long, we've been rounding up and all that change we've been doing all month will be going to the hospitals as well," Ashlee Coronado, Dairy Queen Assistant Manager, says.

They'll give out ice cream until 10 p.m. If you still want to donate, Dairy Queen is collecting money for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals through the end of March. Last year on Free Cone Day, they raised over $200,000 nationwide.
