(KMVT/KSVT) — No one sustained apparent injuries when a car collided with a train Wednesday shortly after noon near Curry Crossing.
Authorities initially told a KMVT reporter at the scene the driver, an adult male, was taken by ground ambulance to an area hospital, but later corrected the information to say the couple in the car was seen by paramedics and kept warm in the ambulance.
The elderly Hollister driver and his passenger drove eastbound on U.S. Highway 30 between Filer to Twin Falls when it collided with the train.
The car sustained heavy front-end damage, and a both airbags deployed.
Idaho State Police investigates the crash
Railroad officials are also conducting an investigation.
The highway was blocked for about an hour and 15 minutes.
Correction: Authorities initially told KMVT one person had been transported to an area hospital. ISP later corrected this information saying the couple was seen by paramedics and kept warm in the ambulance during the investigation. KMVT regrets the error.
