Fire destroys barn in Buhl, killing a couple dozen pigs

BUHL, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - The Buhl Fire Department battled fire that destroyed a two story barn early Friday morning.

Fire Chief Andrew Stevens said they were called just after 4 a.m. to 1700 East and 3943 North. When they arrived the structure was fully involved.

A passing motorist noticed the flames and began honking their horn, which alerted the homeowner of the problem.

The barn was being used to raise pigs. Stevens said 20 to 30 pigs were lost in the fire. The cause is still under investigation, and may be been caused by an electrical issues.

Stevens said It doesn’t look like foul play was involved.
