TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) As the stands in Lighthouse Christian School's basketball gym players wearing blue and white warmed up.

The sound of bouncing balls and squeaking shoes rung through the gym. Players ran back and forth over the imprint that declared the floor Ryan Franklin Court.

The game was the second annual Ryan Franklin Memorial game, the players were former students he coached at Wendell and Lighthouse.

"We're just out here to have fun, to celebrate Ryan Franklin," said Kevin Newbry, the superintendent of Lighthouse Christian School.

Franklin died after he was hit by a car while riding his bike last summer. He was a firefighter and a basketball coach.

"His death was such a negative thing and so to come out and celebrate it with a sport that he loved, I think that just makes everybody feel better and also continue to heal," Newbry said.

Franklin's Wendell alumni players beat his Lighthouse ones 82-71. Players and fans honored his wife Amie and his four children before the game.
