SHOSHONE, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Monday evening Shoshone Police responded to the report of gunshots being fired.
Interim Police Chief Dan Lewin said officers were dispatched to 315 South Beverly St. in Shoshone. When they arrived, they discovered the suspect who was identified as Trenton James Oneida, 27, of Hailey, had left the scene.
Witnesses provided police with a description of the vehicle Oneida was driving. They told police that the suspect had fired a handgun several times following a verbal argument with another person. Oneida was located a short time later north of Shoshone where he was arrested. Police say no one was injured.
Oneida was arraigned in court Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Jerome County courthouse. He was charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault, with one felony enhancement for us of a deadly weapon, according to online court records.
He is being held on a $75,000 bond. No contact orders were also signed.
