OGDEN, Utah (AP) - Utah wildlife officials say hikers should wear bright clothing to make sure they are visible to hunters.
Outreach Manager with the Utah Division of Wildlife Phil Douglass said fall is the busiest time of the year for hunters.
He said hunters can go in the same areas as hikers can, including the foothills, where an archery program allows hunters to help dwindle down the urban deer populations.
He recommends hikers wear orange, just like hunters.
Between hikers and hunters, there have been no incidents in his 30 years with the division.
Since 2007, there have been six hunting-related deaths.
