Homeowners get homes painted by volunteers

TWIN FALLS, idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - Eighteen qualified homeowners are enjoying a new coat of paint on their homes this year, all through donated time and money.

“Paint Magic is an organization that was created to reach out to homeowners that are elderly or disabled to paint their home and beautify their property,” said Adeanna Jenkins, president of the organization. “It looks beautiful when it’s done and these are people that are unable to do it mostly financially but also physically.”

People, like Sheri Mueller of Twin Falls.

“To tell you the truth, it wasn’t something that I had really thought about and so when I was approached, I said sure,” Mueller said.

Serving the Magic Valley since 1986, the non profit gathers teams each year and matches them to a home in the area.

Teams typically take a week to complete the task and Mueller could not be more thankful.

“The volunteers are great. They’re helpful, you know, they even go the extra mile sometimes,” she praised.

Some did not only paint the exterior, but even a little yard work.

“They trim things to get it out of the way so it’s easier for them to complete their job,” added Mueller.
