ITD to detour traffic from US-93, repair damaged road

JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Idaho Transportation Department plans to fix the damaged railroad on US-93 Wednesday night.

Winter weather broke some of the concrete panels on the tracks in Jerome.

Starting at 10 p.m. ITD will detour traffic off the road so they can replace the concrete.

This isn't the only fix they're making now the snow is out of the valley.
They are also patching potholes with what they hope is a more permanent fix.

"Finally some of the hot-asphalt plants have fired up, so we can get some good mix in those holes and hopefully they stay... from potholing a little longer," said Nathan Jerke with the Department.

They expect to finish this railroad project by 4 a.m. and be back open before the morning commute.
