JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - The Jerome Chamber of Commerce held their annual luncheon to honor individuals in Jerome.

The ceremony was held at Blue Lakes Country Club and The Chamber recognized individuals for a Lifetime Achievement Award and Citizens of the Year.

These awards are given based on nominations given in March and April and takes several months for the board of directors to determine the recipients.

Kathleen Hite, executive director of the Jerome Chamber of Commerce, said, "It's for folks that left their mark on Jerome and who go above and beyond to be good citizens."

This year, Charlie and Jill Howell received the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Hite says they both have been long-time residents of Jerome and that Jill works at St. Luke's, even when it was St. Benedict's.

Charlie Howell has been a county commissioner for about 10 years.

The Citizens of the Year award went to Bill and Donna Kyle. Hite says they own the Magic Valley McDonald's and have been "involved in Jerome forever."

"They are always the first to step up to the plate to help out in the community and I think they're most deserving," said Hite.

The luncheon is held every year in October.
