JEROME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) The Jerome wastewater treatment facility is in the second phase of its construction project.
Back in 2015 they were ordered to upgrade their facility to become EPA compliant.
They had six years to get the project done.
Right now they're working on the solids handling building as well as several other projects.
Like so many others the harsh winter weather made it difficult for crews to work.
“There is some impact, it hinders the guys out there working, the construction crews but those people have been doing a great job for us and so quite frankly we're ahead of schedule.”
The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality is seeking public comment on a proposed air quality permit that will regulate emissions from the plant.
The deadline is February 17th at 5 p.m.
