TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter was in Twin Falls on Thursday for the ribbon cutting at the new crisis center, but there was something else about him that was turning heads.
Otter confirmed he is being considered for Trump's Secretary of Agriculture.
Otter applied for this position among two others, and this was his second choice.
With such an agriculture-based state and our abundance of forest land, it piqued his interest.
Trump has picked 17 cabinet members so far, and agriculture is one the four he hasn't picked yet.
Otter said he's happy about the other picks so far.
"I'm encouraged,” Otter said. “I see people that have been successful. People that obviously care and have a… particular interest."
No word yet on whether or not he got it.
Even if the interview went well, Otter said he'd still have to wait for the senate confirmation.
