MERIDIAN, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Idaho State Police ask travelers to use media, transportation and other public agencies for travel times related to the eclipse.
Thursday ISP Spokesman Tim Marsano said the public is unnecessarily contacting ISP dispatch centers for travel times to Weiser. Marsano said the rumor is unfounded.
“ISP cannot speculate on drive times; they are some of the many ‘unknowns’ over the coming days,” Marsano said in a news release.
He said ISP dispatchers anticipate being especially busy through next week performing their critical role of working with ISP troopers throughout the state as those troopers respond to emergency situations.
ISP asks the public turn to appropriate avenues for determining travel times and to only contact dispatch for emergency situation.
