According to Friedman Memorial Airport Manager Chris Pomeroy, the crash happened at 8:10 p.m. The airport emergency responses team was on scene in a couple of minutes and the Hailey Fire Department also responded.
The crash closed the airport for about an hour and 20 minutes Thursday. They experienced flight delays and one incoming flight was diverted to Twin Falls’ airport.
Friday morning, the airport awaited investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
The plane that crashed was a twin engine Beechcraft D55 Baron. The plane landed in the runway safe area on the east side of the runway.
