BUHL, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) On February 9, 2017 the Deep Creek Bridge succumbed to flooding that completely ruined it.
The Buhl Highway District officially announced their plan for reconstruction.
Starting on October 18, 2017 bidding will take place for the contract. A week after that when bidding concludes construction will begin on November 1, 2017.
The project will take approximately five months to complete with the timeline being removing the current box culvert and bridge, restoring the stream channel, then building the new bridge.
When reconstructing bridges construction must occur in low water which in Southern Idaho is after the irrigation season ends and irrigation systems have been flushed out. The project is slated to be finished before the 2018 run-off season to avoid flooding like the 2017 season.
