CASTLEFORD, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) - With breast cancer awareness month coming to an end, one restaurant owner is wrapping up her efforts to raise awareness throughout her business.
Months after opening Mom's Tumbleweed Cafe in Castleford, Jennifer Moore spent all month selling merchandise to also raise funds.
"All proceeds will be going to the MSTI (Mountain States Tumor Institute) center at St. Lukes in honor of my mom who passed away in May," said Moore. "So far, I think we've made about $300 in just the stuff that we've been selling in the restaurant."
On Saturday, she wrapped things off with a 5K Color/Halloween run and walk.
Not very many people participated, but she hopes to advertise much more in advance and make it a bigger event next year.
The cafe opened in early July to fulfill her mother's dream of opening a restaurant in Castleford. Her mother's life was cut short a couple month prior when she lost her battle to breast cancer.
