BURLEY, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) If you're looking for something different to do with the family this weekend, you're in luck. The sprint boat racing season kicks off in Burley Saturday.

"I love this sport, it's an adrenaline rush," said Jimmy Hess of Kimberly.

Racers have to go around a certain combination of turns in the shortest time possible.

"You just leave the pedal to the floor," said Hess.

Jimmy and other teams from Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, California, and Canada will descend on Burley for the first race of the United States Jet Sprint Association.

"I'll have first race jitters. Like for myself, I may miss a corner and it's always nice to have the navigator remind you 'OK, this is coming up or your second turn is coming up.'"

Racing will run from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday and features a beer garden, local food vendors, and a live concert after racing wraps up. For more information, click here.
