Two die in Mountain Home mobile home fire

MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — Two people are dead after a mobile home caught fire early Monday morning.

When emergency crews responded to a mobile home fire off North West Lancaster at about 1:56 a.m. the mobile home was fully engulfed in flames. The blaze killed a male and a female who were located in the back bedroom area after the fire was extinguished, according to a news release. The cause of death has yet to be determined and names were not released Monday afternoon.

The Mountain Home Fire Department, Elmore County Sheriff’s Department and the State Fire Marshall are still investigating the cause of the fire.

"On behalf of the Mountain Home Fire Department, we want to express our sincere condolences to the family,” said Fire Chief Mark Moore. “We know and understand that this incident will forever change the lives of all involved, to include all emergency personnel who responded. We want to reach out in word and support to all the families involved in this tragedy, including our own Fire Department family, in an effort to provide comfort and confidence in those we serve."
