Water resource board approves $730K for new recharge program projects

(KMVT/KSVT) - The Idaho Water Resource Board approved $730,000 for two projects that will increase the size of their managed recharge program.

One will include new turnout structures and head gates on the Richfield-Dietrich canal that will add 100 cubic feet per second (cfs) from the Big and Little Wood River.

The other project will expand the Egin Lakes recharge canal. Worth $580,000, it will add 60 cfs to the capacity.

The board plans to create enough system recharge capacity to maximize recharge diversions during high water years — like this past spring — to offset lower water years.
