BSU QB Rathen Ricedorff declares himself ineligible, off the team

BOISE, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) He was one of Boise State Football's biggest recruits, now Rathen Ricedorff is no longer with the team.

According to the university, he has rendered himself ineligible for the entire 2017 football season, due to an NCAA rules violation.

The Mesa Community College transfer passed for 3,688 yards and 42 touchdowns in his sophomore year.

He finished as the country's leader in touchdowns and completions, en route to being named the National Junior College Athletic Association Offensive Player of the Year.

At Show Low, he helped lead the Cougars to the Class 3A Championship, breaking five state passing records. He finished his career with 8,428 passing yards and 112 touchdows and threw for 4,413 yards and 55 touchdowns his senior year.
