Buhl advances to the district championship, SCIC roundup

TWIN FALLS, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) Filer the surprise story of the 3A district tournament, upsetting the one seed Kimberly and Buhl edged out Gooding at home Monday night.

But the Bulldogs will not be returning to state as Gooding knocked out Kimberly on Tuesday, 49-45. Grace Parker led the Senators with 22 points and Gracie Faulkner added eight. Walker paced the Lady Bulldogs with 15.

Now the Lady Indians and Lady Wildcats are playing on the championship side of the bracket.

Sage Eckert lobs one to Caroline Vera, a little contact, but good enough for the bucket, Buhl up 4-0.

Filer counters with the long ball, as Haven Jones finds the bottom of the net, it's a one point game.

More of Filer, and the three, this time it's Kelsie Snyder good from long range, Wildcats up by two about halfway through the first.

Then Emily Gorrell fires off the long range jumper to tie up the game.

Buhl advances to the district championship next Wednesday (CSI, 7 pm) by the final of 50-45, while Filer will travel to Gooding on Monday at 7 pm in a loser-out game.
