BURLEY, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) Both Burley and Minico Girls Basketball are state bound. There's just one thing left to decide, who takes the number one seed from District IV.
The Lady Bobcats have gone undefeated in the playoffs, ready to put an exclamation point on this tournament Thursday night.
Burley beat Minico by one on Saturday in Rupert.
Bobcats are up three until Jemilyn Mahoney gets the offensive board and putback. We're a minute into the second quarter, Taycee Harper gets the ball and squares up for the three pointer, Spartans cut the deficit to two.
Burley answers immediately, Sydney Pilling takes this one herself, all the way for the layup, it's 13-9 in favor of Burley.
But Minico not going anywhere, down eight, Bailey Black catches the pass in transition.
Then Saydi Anderson whose dribble questioned some fans, makes it a four point game with two and a half minutes left in the second quarter.
But Pilling quieted the doubters, with a wide open look, she made it look easy from downtown and the Bobcats hang on for the 50-47 win.
Becca Tolman led the Bobcats with 11 points.
Minico will battle Century in the first round on Thursday, February 15 at 1:15 pm. Burley will face the third seed out of District III, either Caldwell/Emmett at 6:15 pm. The 4A tournament is held once again at Mountain View High School in Meridian.
Meanwhile, in the Snake River District Tournament, Oakley played Hagerman Thursday night for the second and final seed, and this was all Hornets 47-22.
Oakley of course lost its first game of the season on Tuesday to Shoshone in the championship.
Shoshone plays Ambrose in the first round on Thursday, February 15 at 1:15 pm. Oakley takes on Grace at 6:15 pm that night. The 1A DI tournament is held at Columbia High School in Nampa.
