CSI Women's Basketball edges out USU-Eastern

TWIN FALLS, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) The first place CSI Golden Eagles hosted USU Eastern Saturday afternoon.

The ladies have the same record as two other teams, so every game from here on out is a must win.

CSI defense stifled USU on its first possession, as the Eagles didn't pay attention to the shot clock.

Mallory Lapoole pulls down the rebound, runs the floor, she connects with Jane Nelson, one of her four three pointers on the night, she was perfect from the floor with 16 points.

Eagles answer right back as Rashel Blazzard goes up for two of her 13 points.

Freshman Kaela McClure attempting the three pointer, barely misses, gets her own rebound and fires a pass to Jamie Nielsen in the corner. She had eight points.

Golden Eagles lead by six points in the second quarter.

CSI hangs on for the 76-72 victory. Here's head coach Randy Rogers on Nelson's performance.

Rogers said, "this is a kid who doesn't play play a lot of minutes, still coming off that ACL from last year, putting a lot of work in the gym and I was glad to see that pay off."

With the win, CSI improves to 18-4 overall, 3-1 in conference play.

The Golden Eagles now travel to Snow College on Thursday for a big game with the Badgers, to hopefully get revenge.
