CSI basketball stars suspended indefinitely

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Surprising news coming out of the College of Southern Idaho as basketball stars Charles Jones Jr. and Danya Kingsby have been suspended indefinitely.

KMVT learned of something going on at the CSI campus late Saturday night and Twin Falls Police confirm a K-9 unit was dispatched to the dorms. No arrests or tickets were issued.

Upon reaching out to the college and coaches KMVT learned of the suspensions.

Head Coach Jared Phay told KMVT's Morgan Rumpf the suspensions come from a “violation of team rules”.

Both players are committed to Division 1 programs next season. Jones Jr. to the University of Utah and Kingsby to the University of Pittsburgh.

The suspensions will cost both players two conference games, Thursday home versus Salt Lake CC and Saturday on the road at USU Eastern.

"Basically it's a Code of Conduct. Coaches evaluate conduct and work with our student athletes and the whole idea is trying to make them better people, better citizens, and etc."

Heading into Thursday’s game against Salt Lake CC the team will be without arguably two of the most talented players on the roster. Jones Jr. leads the team in points with 20.2 per game and Kingsby fourth with 12.4 per game. Kingsby leads the assists category with 4.4 per game and Jones Jr. with 4.0 per game. Jones Jr. and Kingsby are one and two on the team in minutes played at 27.2 and 22.5 respectively.

After the suspension and community service served; when, or if to be welcomed back on the team is Coach Phay's decision.
