DIETRICH, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) Ryann Perron signed with Treasure Valley Community College Volleyball in Ontario, Oregon.
The Chukkars feature a new coach this year that might be a familiar face for some of you volleyball aficionados.
Former CSI assistant Erin Mellinger takes over the reigns this fall, one of the key reasons Perron is going to TVCC.
Since leaving CSI, Mellinger won back to back national championships in 2013 and 14 with Blinn College as the head coach.
For Perron she reunites with Mellinger, who coached her at CSI camps for many years.
Looking back at her time in Dietrich, her favorite memory dated back to sophomore year when the Blue Devils upset the eventual state champion Lighthouse in the district championship.
Ryann said, "when we beat Lighthouse in my sophomore year, that was awesome and we took off and won, that was the greatest feeling beating them."
Traci Perron added, "the biggest thing with Ryann is she hates to close. You got two different kinds of athletes, those who like to win and those who hate to lose and Ryann is definitely in the hate to lose department. She's aggressive and will do everything she can to win. She's gotten better as she's matured over the course of her high school career."
Ryann played all four years for the Blue Devils, earning second-team all-conference honors her freshman campaign, followed by first-team honors the rest of the way.
She wants to eventually transfer to a four-year school and continue playing volleyball.
