FILER, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) When one thinks of Filer Girls Golf, Hallie Oyler comes to mind.
The recent graduate has been a standout player for years. Now she hopes the Big Sky will take notice too.
Oyler signed with Idaho State University Wednesday afternoon in front of family and friends.
As a junior, she finished as the 3A state runner up and this year took fourth.
She has mentors like Coach Jenna Sharp who graduated from Twin Falls in 2011, before playing golf at ISU and her brother's girlfriend, Sierra Harr who currently plays golf at Weber State University. 2
It's not just them, but rival Kylie Crossland who won the state championship for Buhl last month.
Filer hasn't always fielded a full girls golf team, so Oyler has definitely been the face of the Wildcats.
On being one of the few Filer girls golfers, Hallie explained, "I'm definitely glad to be one of the only girls to play golf and stand out, but I definitely hope that more girls can come out.
Coach Sharp said, "golf is such a good sport to play in college because there are so many scholarships that go unused for girls golf. So whenever I see a girl that has potential, I'm get in there, get working, more often than not you can play in college and it's one of the best experiences you can have."
Oyler also had offers from North Idaho College and Lewis-Clark State College.
