ISU defensive line coach released from jail following DUI arrest

POCATELLO, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) Fifth year Idaho State defensive line coach Steve Fifita's eventful weekend lands him behind bars.

He was booked at Bannock County Jail Friday night after having an open container and a blood alcohol content level two and a half times the legal limit, both misdemeanors.

The university released a notification on Tuesday that Fifita has been placed on administrative leave to tend to "personal matters". He later confirmed the identity matched the arrest report.

Fifita was released on bond and due back in court early next week.

He played collegiately at Utah, before playing professionally for the Frankfurt Galaxy, Miami Dolphins and New England Patriots.
