Idaho Football snaps losing streak as the Vandals win their FBS finale

ATLANTA, Ga. ( KMVT / KSVT ) Idaho Football won its last game as an FBS team with the 24-10 victory at Georgia State on Saturday.

Senior running back Aaron Duckworth rushed for 113 yards and more than 1,000 for the season, while freshman Colton Richardson, Idaho's third string quarterback was 16 of 30 for 228 yards and a touchdown.

The Vandals led 14-10 at halftime and the defense held tight for the second half.

Jalen Hoover recorded an interception and a fumble, the first Vandal to produce two takeaways in one game this season.

The 14-point win marked Idaho's first Sun Belt game this season decided by more than eight points.

Idaho finishes the year at 3-5 in Sun Belt play, 4-8 overall.

Idaho also snapped a three-game losing streak.

"Our guys have showed up to practice every week, grinded every week, worked hard every week. We lost five conference games and every one was by one possession. We're five plays away from flipping the record around. As far as attitude, character and people, it's a great group of kids," head coach Paul Petrino exclaimed.

Duckworth on reaching the 1,000 yard mark for the season (1,025 yards overall), "it's awesome, man. The O-line did a great job getting me there. We didn't have a lot going for us this year, but we were trying to get me a 1,000 so I owe them a lot."
