Lady Pilots sneak past the Lady Vikings; Snake River playoffs

MURTAUGH, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) We take you to Murtaugh High School, the site of the Snake River District Championships.

Valley a four seed this year, trying to rebuild the program, played the fifth seed, Glenns Ferry in the first game of the tournament.

Valley up five points in the midway point of the third, Katie Johnson finds nothing but net, but the Pilots answer quickly as Talli Crone scores from down low.

Then MaKenna Hedelius drains one of two free throws, Glenns Ferry within five.

The Pilots answer again to get within two and they prevail, 36-34. Next up, second-ranked Oakley, who's undefeated on Thursday, February 1 at 6 pm. The Vikings play the loser of Shoshone-Hagerman Saturday, February 3 at 6 pm.

Hagerman 47, Raft River 44: The Pirates take on Shoshone Thursday, February 1 at 7:30 pm. The Trojans face the loser of Oakley-Glenns Ferry Saturday, February 3 at 7:30 pm.

OTHER SCORES:

Hansen 64, Camas 36: Y. Alaniz recorded a team-high 16 points. A. Whittle scored a game-high 17 points.

BOYS BASKETBALL:

Wendell 42, Gooding 39: Blake Hughes recorded 16 points.
