Minico standout basketball player sustains season-ending injury

RUPERT, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) An abrupt end for a Minico Girls Basketball standout.

Basketball

Spartans head coach Anna Bateman told us that Taylia Stimpson broke her ankle and is out for the season.

On Tuesday, Stimpson fell awkwardly on a play at Twin Falls High School.

She ended up walking off the court on her own accord, but grimacing along the way.

Minico will have to move on without their leading scorer. The junior paced the team with 15.2 points per game, to go along with 5.1 rebounds and three steals a contest.

The second-leading scorer is Saydi Anderson who might have to pick up some of the work load.

Minico is 7-1 in the Great Basin Conference, 12-6 overall.
