RUPERT, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) John Perrigot is headed to Montana Western. The Minico quarterback led his team to new heights as the Spartans reached the 4A state championship for the first time.
Perrigot marks the first QB since Dane Broadhead to take his talents to the next level. Broadhead of course went onto Carroll College where he won a national championship as the starting quarterback.
Perrigot earned the honor of Great Basin Offensive Player of the Year. He set a school record with most completions in a game at 25 and produced the most passing yards in school history with 2,029 this fall.
His father Tim earned Coach of the Year. Now the two are leaving behind a legacy, as the elder Perrigot is becoming the superintendent of the Wendell School District.
"It's been amazing and was such a great opportunity to do it with my day, to do it for this community who supports us all year, just amazing," as the future Bulldog said.
"I can't express to you how hard he has work to get to this point, the 7 on 7's, and all the early mornings and the weight room. Everything we asked him to do as a quarterback. He's put in the time, I think he's going to succeed. He wants to do well, he's a great leader, people like John Perrigot. I think that's a credit to his mother and I just think he has a chance to do real well," explained the former coach.
No replacement has been announced for Tim Perrigot.
