TWIN FALLS, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) The rodeo community lost one of its own in that horrific crash on Nov. 11 that killed three in Jerome County.
Former CSI cowboy Cole Hatcher passed away at Saint Alphonsus last week.
We spoke with friend and former teammate Mitch Pollock on the phone. They grew up together in Winnemucca, Nevada, playing little league baseball and football.
Pollock went to the hospital last Monday to see Hatcher's family and say goodbye to his longtime friend. Hatcher was well-loved on the CSI Rodeo team and sometimes pushed his limits, Pollock said with a laugh.
He owes a lot to Hatcher for teaching him how to ride bucking horses.
Pollock said, "he was always trying to make me a better bronco rider, he was always pushing me and he just helped me out so much. This year I was able to professional rodeo with him, 50 something rodeos, 20,000, 25,000 miles all summer long and we just had a blast."
Pollock says there will be a celebration of life for Hatcher in both Winnemucca and Twin Falls. Dates have not been announced as of yet.
