RUPERT, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) To the boy’s hardwood as the No. 5, 7-2 overall, Minico Spartans hosted the No.1 undefeated, Preston Indians in a non-conference match-up.

The Spartans will have to fair without their leading scorer in Larry Vega for their fourth game. Vega who is with ailing family. The Spartans started four sophomores with the absence of Vega.

However Thursday the Spartans welcomed defending state champs in the Preston Indians.

The Spartans may have scored first but once the Indians gained momentum the closest later on they let Minico get was within six.

They were led by senior Regen Povlsen and sophomore Kasen Carpenter who finished with 17 and 16 points.

Looking to get back to that state championship game and bring home hardware for the third year the Indians were led by Brayden Parker.

The big man standing at six-foot-seven finished the night with 27 points in the 75-59 win.
