TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) Both the CSI women’s and men’s basketball teams swept the ICCU Invitational over the weekend.

The women's team was led by sophomore Tiena Afu which has nabbed her Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) Player of the Week.

The 24th ranked team beat Tohono O'odham and Arizona Western to improve to 7-1 overall.

Afu dominated the stats sheet averaging 12 points, 13.5 rebounds, two assists and 3.5 steals per game for the weekend.

Before each game Tiena talks with her dad on strategy which helps with her in-game success.

"I usually talk to my dad. We just talk about me and how I need to take more shots. I find myself watching a lot from the top of the key. So my dad and I always stress the importance of going for every rebound. And always finding work and not just standing around and watching the game,”
Tiena said.

So far this season Tiena has 108 points and averages 13.5 points per game. Last year she finished the 2016-2017 season with 287 points, and averaged 9.9 points per game, so she’s already on track for a better year statistically.
