Twin Falls Volleyball stays undefeated, sweeps Minico; sports roundup

TWIN FALLS, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) Twin Falls hosting Minico in what could be a potential matchup late in the playoffs.

Leading the way, Whitney Solosabal with 11 kills and 16 digs. Tori Edwards added nine kills and 11 digs.

Twin Falls sweeps in three all the by the score of 25-20. The Bruins have yet to lose a set in conference play since 2015.

Gooding 3, Wendell 0: (25-7, 25-5, 25-12) Nicole Stampke scored nine kills, Cathy Atkinson added six and Laken Wolf recorded four.

Murtaugh 3, Castleford (25-19, 25-11, 20-25, 25-17) Abby Suiter and Setoki scored 12 kills together.

Shoshone 3, Hagerman 0: (25-21, 25-12, 25-18) Monce Rivas scored 12 kills, while Allysen Huyser had seven,


Bliss 2, Buhl 1: Steven Rubio opened the scoring for Bliss when he was awarded a PK in the first half. Buhl kept Bliss on their heels much of the game and Bliss goal keeper, Kaleb Gabriel, totaled five saves.

Buhl never let up and eventually equalized in the second half, but Bliss' Diego Gutierrez finished late in the game to win it for Bliss.

Buhl controlled the midfield on the counter, but Bliss' back line, Adam Tellez, Jesse Swift, Saul Valencia, Chava Rivas, and Ramon Rubalcava deserve mention for some crucial blocks in their defensive third.

Bliss 3, Buhl 1: Bliss' Jenny Rodriguez scored twice and Morgan Ramirez netted a goal. Bliss scored all three goals before conceding one to Buhl.

Community School 5, Gooding 0: (Lily Fitzgerald 2, Christine Estep 2, own goa). Cutthroats traveled to Gooding, coming away with their seventh victory of the season.

The Cutthroats are 7-0(5-0 league).

They host the Canyon Ridge Riverhawks on Saturday. The JV plays at 1:00pm, the Varsity at 3:00.
