Vandals, Yotes volleyball players get conference recognition

MOSCOW, Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) Former local standouts received major recognition as members of the University of Idaho Volleyball team.

On Monday, the Big Sky Conference named Filer graduate Sarah Sharp, Offensive Player of the Week and CSI transfer Alycia Wodke, Defensive Player of Week.

Over the weekend, the Vandals closed out the final home game of the regular season with a five set thriller over North Dakota. Sarah Sharp produced a game-high 24 kills, matching a career high.

CSI transfer Alycia Wodke led the defense with 23 digs. In the sweep over UNC, Sharp had 18 kills and Wodke recorded 22 digs. With the victory, the Vandals tied for first place in the Big Sky North with North Dakota.

Meanwhile, CSI transfer Marija Djonovic earned Cascade Conference Setter of the Week.

In their recent win over Walla Walla University, the Yote posted a game-high 33 assists and 14 digs. C of I locked down the No. 2 seed to next weekend's Cascade Conference Championships.
