WENDELL Idaho ( KMVT / KSVT ) The Wendell Baseball players found ways of entertaining themselves while waiting out a lightning delay.
The officiating crew of the Wendell-Gooding Baseball game monitored the lightning strikes very closely. Radar showcased lightning strikes in the vicinity at 3:52 pm, just eight minutes before the first pitch.
The teams waited another 15 minutes before deciding that this game needed to be postponed. Rules state that you must wait 30 minutes after each lightning strike to play ball.
And well, as they continued to surface, the amount of rain also increased.
Wendell head baseball coach said, "this is baseball in the springtime in Idaho. We'll take it as it goes. We have a lot of youth, we're trying to cut down on the mistakes and things are starting to turn the corner."
The teams will make up this game on May 1 at 4 p.m., of course weather permitting.
