Jerome, Idaho ( KMVT-TV / KSVT-TV ) - The City of Jerome say they have increased communications with the public. Zoe Monahan with the city said they currently use the newsletter, a computer program and app for smartphones called Nixle and now Facebook.
Nixle is a product that allows the City to send out community and emergency messages via text and email. The City has been using this tool since the summer of 2013. During the summer months, constructions updates are being sent out regularly. Community events are also sent to the registered users. This was a free product and is a great tool to keep our citizens up to date on current events. Sign up for Nixle at
Information around the community is also available in the city newsletter which is available online, at the utilities office and other businesses around town.
The City of Jerome is also on Facebook. The city is increasing our presence to quickly get information out to the community. The community is invited to “like” the City of Jerome, Idaho page. The community can expect to get information such as road closures, upcoming events and other interesting information.
The community can also stay informed by attending City Council meetings which take place on the first and third Tuesday of the month at 5:30PM. There is also an opportunity for citizen comments at each City Council meeting.
