Here are the recipes from our finalists:
Bean and Bacon Soup: Lisa Kidd
2 pounds pinto beans
2 pounds Falls Brand peppered bacon
Chop bacon in about 2" pieces
Add beans in crockpot
Add bacon in crockpot
Add about a teaspoon of salt. You will learn to salt to your taste.
Add water to just below brim of crockpot.
Turn on low and cook for two days. Add water as needed.
Eat with honey cornbread and a hungry stomach.
Bacon and Blue Cheese Date Wraps Appetizer: Dixie Vargas
18 pieces of bacon
36 pitted dates
2/3 cup crumbled blue cheese
Cut bacon strips in half and cook over medium heat until partially cooked not crisp.
put on a paper towel to drain.
Carefully cut a slit in each date and fill with blue cheese. Wrap a piece of the cooked bacon around each date and secure with a toothpick.
Bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 375 degrees until bacon is crisp about 10-12 minutes.
Bacon Shrimp: Debbie Tucker
Get one pound or half pound depending on servings desired..of falls brand bacon..a can of sliced water chestnuts .1 pound shrimp teriyaki pineapple juice and toothpicks.....you begin by peeling and washing shrimp then set aside you then cut bacon strips in half set aside take a cup of teriyaki sauce preferrably yoshida sweet and add a quarter cup pineapple juice a pinch of brown sugar and mix.take shrimp. And water chestnuts throw in marinade cover put in fridge for an hr or if time overnight. .. take bacon strips wrap around shrimp and water chestnuts when all assembled glaze with teriyaki left over marinade. And bbq or broil until browned if u like them caramelized sprinkle a bit of brown sugar on top
